noise disturbance inadequate sound insulation

The room possessed adequate space and looked clean upon my arrival.

The sound insulation proved inadequate and I experienced considerable noise disturbance from the street. Sleep was difficult because of this constant intrusion. I expected better soundproofing for a hotel in this category.
