the staff were friendly. they spoke fluent english. my room had a view of the castle walls (it was lovely at night!).
the breakfast area was crowded. queues formed easily and finding a table was difficult. i also had to put all toilet paper into a bin rather than flush it, as directed.

The location was convenient. I could walk to many attractions.
The breakfast area felt cramped. Maneuvering around tables proved difficult. The coffee tasted surprisingly poor compared to the usual Portuguese standard. The room lacked character. It felt impersonal.
