clean room city view huge bathroom
the room was very clean. it features a city view, and i did think it a real treat. my bathroom included lots of closet space and was huge and luxurious.
i think the gym equipment is old.

Underwhelming Stay Near Central Park
old elevators missing amenities
The elevators are quite old. Portable air conditioners were plugged into them. That was sitting right on the floor. It felt out of place for a hotel charging so much, but the location was really good! The room lacked basic amenities. There was no complimentary water or coffee maker. I found a half-empty bottle of lotion in the bathroom too. We found it weird.

the staff was genuinely attentive . i particularly appreciated the quick response to my requests. the cleanliness of my room was perfect and the daily housekeeping maintained a high standard. the location across from central park allowed for convenient morning strolls.
the elevator wait times were occasionally longer than expected.

Wonderful Stay on Fifth Avenue
friendly staff helpful staff safe surroundings
The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful, completely unlike other hotels. I stayed at most of the great hotels around Central Park South and was impressed. The professionals were warm and helpful. No detail was overlooked, from the flowers in the lobby to our room.
The gym could benefit from updated equipment.

Underwhelming Stay. Issues Need Addressing
minimum spend cigarette smoke
The bar had a strange policy. Guests faced a minimum spend of $50? The front desk acknowledged the policy but offered no solution. the room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Staff claimed they had aired it out. That clearly did not work.

the hotel is near central park (great for morning walks). the suite had a large living area plus a spacious bathroom.
during my visit, the bar had a minimum spend per guest, even for hotel residents (a policy that felt restrictive).
