Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
The Waterman's Arms offers a comfortable stay in a characterful pub setting near the Thames, perfect for exploring Greenwich and the Cutty Sark. Many guests appreciate the convenient location, with the Island Gardens DLR station just a 5-minute walk away, providing easy access to areas like Canary Wharf, the O2 Arena, and Stratford for the ABBA Voyage show. While generally well-received, some guests have noted that the included breakfast only allows a single dish from the menu. However, the clean, modern rooms and proximity to the river walk make it a good value, especially for those wanting to walk along the Thames to Canary Wharf.

the room was cool with interesting decor. the pub downstairs looked inviting. staff members were helpful and friendly (always smiling!). breakfast tasted delicious. the location proved easy to find and it was close to island gardens tube station.
i found the shower knob a little loose. it needed some tightening.

charming stay near greenwich

beautiful rooms uber boat warm welcome nice layout
I found the pub good with very beautiful rooms upstairs. the location is near the cutty sark and the uber boat services. the staff welcomed us warmly, even when they were very busy. my room was comfortable. Its layout was quite nice and everything felt very clean.
My room was warm. It only had a small fan, and its effectiveness was limited. i could detect a slightly damp odour, especially in the bathroom. i kept the window open to try to reduce it, though it didn't help much.
Rooms
9/10
The standard double room features a very comfortable bed and quiet atmosphere. the room also provides excellent facilities for a traditional pub setting. I enjoyed the good size and equipment available in the room. i especially liked how nicely it was laid out.
Dining
8/10
The hotel features a very friendly local pub that serves good food. I really appreciated the freshness of the breakfast. i was able to choose a hot drink and a breakfast plate from the whole menu. This was a charmed surprise. freshly cooked breakfast portions are also large.
Facilities
9/10
The hotel offers excellent access for after hours. This felt very secure. it's close to island gardens dlr station. The walk takes only two minutes. Very convenient! the foot tunnel to greenwich is a short walk away, too. It's great to be close to the city.

unfriendly demeanor inhospitable atmosphere
The breakfast service required significant improvement. the server looked unwelcoming and behaved as if attending to guests was an imposition for her. i found her demeanor quite unfriendly, as though i presented an inconvenience by requesting the wi-fi password. She merely pointed to a chalkboard at the bar without offering any direct assistance, this felt rather inhospitable.
