The InterContinental Sydney impresses many guests with its fantastic location, a short walk from the Opera House and Circular Quay, convenient for accessing ferries and the train station. Many rooms have been refurbished and offer excellent facilities, like USB charging outlets, and some provide stunning views of the harbor. While a few guests have occasionally noted noise from nearby weekend events reaching rooms facing Macquarie Street, most find the location and well-appointed rooms a worthwhile experience.

harbor access train station fresh fruit sewer odor manager absence front desk
The location provided easy access to the harbor. I found the train station within a short walk. Breakfast included many fresh fruit options. I thought that was great.
I noticed a strong sewer odor in the bathroom. I called multiple times to speak with a manager. There was no response. I had to go to the front desk myself.

convenient location comfortable bed well-appointed room slow elevators dated equipment limited options
I loved the location! It was convenient to many attractions. The room, a Classic King Room City View, was also well-appointed. The bed was comfortable, and I slept soundly each night.
The elevators were a bit slow at times. This caused some delays when trying to get to my room. The gym equipment seemed a bit dated, and some machines were out of service. There were limited vegan options on the room service menu.

The location was AMAZING! It offered very easy access to major attractions. The breakfast selection included many different options and I really appreciated the high quality.
The room service was just ok. There was no proper table setting for the meal, which I found a little disappointing. The staff also seemed very busy and perhaps a bit overwhelmed.
