the room showed its age. i found peeling on doors and wooden parts which detracted from the stay. the air conditioning seemed ineffective, causing a stuffy atmosphere in the room. it was disappointing considering the initial impressions of the hotel.

The location is superb. It is a minute's walk from the Marquês de Pombal statue. I also found it easy to reach Parque Eduardo VII from there. Breakfast was excellent, some of the best I've had in Portugal. The staff was always helpful!
The air conditioning didn't go low enough, only decreasing by 4 degrees from 20. This meant the room was still too warm. I could hear people outside. the walls seemed thin so I heard noises from a nearby room.
