The rooms were appointed well and suited my needs for 3 nights. the staff was helpful and friendly. the spa was really good, and i enjoyed the swimming pool! the location was advantageous. It allowed easy exploration. parking was available, a definite plus for me.

The lighting system in the room was overly complicated. It took some time to figure out how to operate it properly.

Adam from the Concierge offered a warm welcome. The reception staff member was also very lovely. The room provided an unhindered view of the castle. It was spacious and spotlessly clean (my partner owns a cleaning company and noticed this). The room service included evening turn-down service. This was a nice touch. The room was dark and quiet, despite the hotel's proximity to Lothian Road.

The control panel for the heating and air conditioning was located in a shaded corner, making it a bit difficult to see.
